Word/Excel docs embedded in OLE displays only limited cols/rows?

Here's another wicked OLE detail I need help with.

I've got an OLE field in an Access table. Some records have Word docs embedded, others have Excel workbooks. When I inlclude the OLE field in an Access report, it will Zoom to show all of the first page of the Word doc, but you can't use CanGrow for OLE and so any additonal pages will not display/print.

In Excel, it's even worse - I'm only able to display/print range A1:K37 of the active tab! Doesn't matter how the columns are formatted, what their width/height is, what the Print Area is set to, etc. It always Zooms to 10 cols, 37 rows. Except that it's not PERFECTLY consistent, and sometimes I see 11 cols, sometimes only 36 rows. I can't see a pattern to this, and I certainly can't find any way to control it on purpose. The whole doc/xls is there when I activate it, no problem. Setting

Are these limits locked in? If so, why aren't they 100% consistent? If not, how do I control them?? I'm okay with the 1-page limit in Word, but I sure would like to have more columns to work with in Excel!

Thanks in advance,
Gordon
