I am running Acrobat 5.05 from within Word (2002)on Windows XP and part way through the process I get the message:

"Word has insufficient memory. You will not be able to undo this action once it is completed. Do you want to continue y/n."

Is there a way to allocate memory directly to Word? Has anyone come across this before and if so, how did you solve it? I am working with a large file with many graphics. At one point the conversion, although slow, took place. Now it just hangs.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Try doing a shutdown/restart. This should restore some memory. Also, how much else do you having running concurrently? Shut down some fo the other resource users that are running. You're acknowledging that you're sapping available memory by the nature of the file you're working with, so free some up by shutting down other apps.

Or simply add more memory!! Memory is allocated automatically to applications, if you have a lot of graphics the problem lays in the fact you have filled your memory.

Try grabbing memory from another computer as a test, put 512mb in the computer, you won't have to allocate it to word. If there is memory, it will get allocated automatically.

See if that helps!!
