Word doc keeps crashing

I have one particular document that I cannot save. When I try to save it the process starts and about 3/4 the way through Word closes and doesn't save any changes. I have done an uninstall / reinstall of Office but still ge the same result. Any other Word docs or Excel files can be saved, but not this one.
Any insight will be very much appreciated.

This generally happens if there is embedded pics or charts in the doc. The only work around I can come up with, is to (bit by bit) copy and paste into a new doc. Each time you paste a new bit, save. When you can't save, this is the piece of doc that is causing the problem. When in doubt, kick 'er in the guts
