Have you noticed how you type "Janua" and Word completes January? It will do it for January, February, August, September, November and DEcember, but it won't do it for March, April, May, June, July and October.

Any reason for this? Also, it's not doing it for January or February all the time, sometimes it won't do it at all.

October should work. March, April, May, June, July don't work because Microsoft, in their infinite wisdom decided that those words are too short to warrant autocompletion.

If I was writing marvelous, Marshall, Mars, Marsh etc. I'd not be happy if Word changed it to 'March'. I'd say this applies for the rest - it gives you the month-name when there are no other probable words you might be meaning.

But then, why doesn't it work ALL THE TIME with January or February? Sometimes it does, and sometimes it doesn't.

Could you expand on the circumstances when it does, and when it does not? You may actually have to test, and make notes, in order to do that.

Other than that, simply stating it "sometimes" does, and "sometimes" doesn't give us no clues.

Believe me, I know "sometimes" doesn't help. I just can't establish a pattern. I thought maybe someone has already experienced this behavior and was able to establish the pattern, thus, saving me all the work. :) I'll keep working on it. If anyone hears or reads anything somewhere else, please post it, no matter how ridiculous or customized it may seem.

Let's try to narrow it down.

When it does NOT work, does it not work for the whole session Word is open? Does it not work in one document (same session) but does for another document (same session)?

AutoComplete popups only occur when you type the fourth character. So if you are typing March, it would popup on typing 'h'. Well if you are going to press enter to accept the popup, you may as well press 'h' and forget all about it. There's hardly any reason to have AutoComplete for such short month names. And as pointed out by Madawc, had MS used those popups, it would leave fewer choices for user created AutoText shortcuts.

In Word 2007, with exception of dates, the AutoComplete has been removed - but is totally screwed in English(British) versions.
