New problem just started happening in the last day or two

W2K Server SP4, Exchange 2000 SP3+

When users (2 so far) send word attachments to a group of people, the recipients (external only) report that they are unable to open the attachments, error message along the lines of invalid file path. No problems sending internally.

When resending to an individual, no problems encountered.

I am leaning towards thinking it is a problem at the recipient's end, but need to be really sure there is no problems my end

Any idea where to start looking ?

(Nothing in the event logs of any note)

Thanks in advance

Paul

Paul,
Check for the muppet troubles first (as I've seen this before) - first time they send a shortcut and it doesn't work. Second time you are standing there and they send the document.

Or have far end save the attachment locally rather than OLEing inside Outlook. See if that works.

Hehe "muppet troubles"

we call the "I D Ten T errors" here ;-)

Will do as you suggest. I did send to two of my external (hotmail etc) accounts without any trouble !

Thanks for the advice

Paul

You might also want to make sure that you're sending the email as plain text with a file attachment and not an encoded and embeded attachment.
