Word 97

I'm not able to open a document that is read only. When I select the open as a read only tab the page stays blank and never starts to open the document. If I supply the password the document opens okay. I tried the same procedure on another workstation and I was able to open the document as a read only by selecting the open as read only tab.
I've tried re-installing MS Office 97 Pro with the same results.
I'm hoping taht someone can point me in the right direction in solving this problem.

It could be that the read only document is getting something confued with your normal.dot file, or whatever template the read only file is based on.

Try renaming your normal.dot or other template and see if it helps.

If it does, I would think that your template is somehow corrupt.

Thanks for responding Nareik. After I applied SR2-B my problem was solved.
