Word 97 Spell Checker unavailable to users on Windows 2000 Laptop

I have installed Office 97 on a users Windows 2000 Laptop. The spell Checker in Word 97 is only available when the administrator logs on.

Does anyone know why this is and how I resolve it?

In Word can you open the "Options" menu under "Tools"
then click the "Spelling & Grammer" TAB.

Are they checked??

you may hae to log in as Adminstrator and comapre which ones are checked or not and rint eh screen and print it out.
then log back in as other user and compare.

I have recently had this problem on a windows 2000 desktop pc. I assumed that it was related to a registry problem.

The work around was to temporarily give admin privileges to the user, install word (or office) as the user, then remove the admin privileges from the user.

If it is related to a registry problem, I am not sure which key you would have to modify imstead of carrying out the above.
