We are currently running an application called Meditech which automatically launches MS Word 97 as part of its process. The problem is that unless our users are power users or domain admins, they are unable to edit the document "document 1" that is launched by word. I know this is a rights issue, I am just trying to find out exactly what I need to give my users rights to.

Any assistance would be appreciated.

Thanks,

When the FS (EMR&PCS AKA HUB install) portion of Meditech installs it kicks off an installation of Word Viewer begins an install as well. If the default file association for your word docs is the viewer your users can’t edit them. One way around this is to reinstall the Word Viewer and select the option for do not use this as default.

Citrix wise... When Word is installed you need to select the option to install it for all users. I hope this is some help.
