I am having a problem with Word 2003 on a windows 2000 PC printing to a HP4200 printer. No matter how many copies I request I only get 1. Any Ideas?

Try changing the Collation setting before you Print.

By having Collate turned on, Word is responsible for printing each copy to the printer. With it turned on, Word instructs the printer itself to print the multiple copies.

If you manage to get multiple copies with this setting one way or the other, it will show you what's causing the problem.

Hi,

'fraid I have no solution, but Collate should get round it.

I have had this problem with Win XP drivers for HP printers (and HP don't provide drivers or answers) and have yet to find a solution so I'll keep an eye on this thread to see if anyone comes up with a proper fix.

Enjoy,
Tony

I believe recalling this is a bug and turning off background printer resolves it. Test and see if this is the bug. It isn't a very good worksaround though as it ties up your desktop whilst printing is taking place.

If you are using the HP PCL6 driver, you may find solace by using the HPCL5 driver.

We had the same problem which was solved by enabling the following options:

Print spooled documents first

Enable advanced printing features
