Word 2003 - Date auto correcting!!!

Please can someone tell me how to stop Word 2003 inserting the date automatically when I type the date out first. i.e. I type 23rd May 2005 & it prompts me to put an american date in "2005-05-23".

I know I can press any key apart form the enter key & it will disappear, but is there anyway on pressing the enter key without getting the date inserted?

Hi BlondeTech,

You can turn off the AutoComplete feature in Tools > AutoCorrect Options > AutoText ta. This will affect all AutoText but it's probably worth it unless you have your own customized AutoText entries.

Thank you this cured the problem
