User opens up an existing word doc on the W:\ (sort of a template) which is read only(so it can’t be altered), then saves it to a general directory on the W:\ as “Filex.doc” using Office XP (word 2002). Next the user opens “Filex.doc” and inserts some pictures as hyperlinks from R:\ (W:\ and R:\ are on the same server just a different Share). Once the user inserts his 15-20 pictures as hyperlinks, he saves the report to the W:\ and goes home for the day. When he come in the next day to open the file the Pictures he inserted as hyperlinks do not show up. The path for the linked files shows ..\...\xx. We just upgraded our Office 2000 to Office XP SP3. This worked fine in Office 2000.. Seems that if I have the linked files and reports all on one drive and repeat the steps it works fine, Its only when I am working with the 2 different mapped network drives I have problems. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hi,

You're going to have to progamatically specify the explicit server path...
Code:
sPath = "\\yourserver\yourfolders\yourfilename"

I should mention that I am looking for an automated way to fix this as there are between 15-20 thousand of these files that need to be repaired since the upgrade of MS office. Might end up making the $$ call to microsoft for a fix...
