Word 2002 opens twice when launched!!!

Is it just .doc files or do find this elsewhere. I can only point out what the obvious might be. It sounds like "open with single click" got turned on. I don't know what OS you have so you'll have to check your help file for directions.

I don't have 2002 and don't know of anything particular which it might do, but is it really opening a second instance of Word, or just a second window with a blank document? If the latter, look at any macros that run at startup - some packages add some pretty poor code sometimes.
