Word 2000 Keeps freezing

Hi there i have a copy of Word 2000 that keeps freezing on an employee's PC i updated office with the latest service pack but it still keeps happening, any suggestions as to what it might be and what i can do?

the PC has pleanty of resources and ill be doing a check of the whole system later to see how it is but if you've any ideas in the mean time that would be great!

Is the program trying to AutoSave to a slow network drive, or a path which does not exist? This could cause your problem.

Delete normal.dot that might be corrupt.
Word will regenerate a default one.

Let us know the result.

What BobStubbs said is also another possibility, of course.
