Wont erase tape

Hi Guys

When i try to do a quick erase plus I get an error msg reading Erase failed "Group already open" what does this mean and how can I get around it...... The tape is the correct tape.. We cycle them every two weeks.

Check the job queue. When a backup jobs starts, ARCserve locks the Device Group where the media reside in. As long as the group is locked you cannot perform additional actions to the media in it like format and/or erase jobs.

Yes thats it.... There was a bkup that had lost communication with the drives for some reason.... thanks....
