WMP11 & IE7 installers crash?? DEP!!

Hello,

I have Windows XP Pro SP2 installed on my computer. I'm trying to install WMP11 & IE7 onto my computer, but everytime I try the installer crashes on me.

I was receiving DEP messages during the installation and the installer would close on me.

I would then check the event viewer and it says:

"Faulting application update.exe, version 6.2.29.0, faulting module unknown, version 0.0.0.0, fault address 0x0065006c."

I then disabled DEP and now I don't receive any error messages during installation, but at the end of the installation it says that the program wasn't able to install successfully, and now there are no errors showing up now in the event viewer.

Can somebody please help me with this? I really want to update to WMP11 and IE7, but I can't. :-(

Try installing IE7 in safe mode. Make sure any 3rd party firewall or anti-spyware tools are disabled during the installation.
