wizard cannot be started failed to contact the active directory

The wizard cannot be started because it failed to contact the active directory:

Can somebody help me here; I am trying to request a certificate from my server, but for some reason when I go to mmc in my client machine and try to request a certificate I always get the same error " The wizard cannot be started because it failed to contact the active directory"

extremely weird because DNS is working fine I just dont know whats happening; my nslookup works fine; can ping from server to client and viceversa. Just dont know what going on.

Try the event logs in both the local server and the DC. Maybe worth using a few extra's such as DCDIAG from the resource kit too - should help give the DC a clean bill of health.
