Hi everyone.
I have a client on IP500 with ISDN30.
They withhold their number when dialling - by default.
But have an override using personal shortcodes to display their DDI if desired.
The client is adament - and I believe them that occasionally their number is not being withheld.
But where could it fall down? Can the system occasionally not ask for withhold - or can the exchange occasionally miss or drop / ignore this instruction.
Any ideas?
Paul

you will need to check the system short code, or ARS or User rights SCs or the users own SCs and see whats programmed.

A W in the SC should withhold the the number.

an over ride would be another SC to dial to release the W

? / W. / <ARS or LG ID> --> possible system shortcode to withhold.

then an override could be

9N / Ns<number to present> or Ns. / <ARS or LG ID>

thanks -
yep the codes are in place and work.
The override codes are in place and work.

However occassionally - about once or twice a week the call shows their main number. Someone 'could' be activating their show my DDI shortcode (so I may make them more difficult and not a '9'...) but the client is adament that they are not doing this. & I do tend to believe them.

well it could be a line issue.

best thing is to run a monitor trace.

keep it logging, split the files into 5MB segements when logging to file otherwise you end up with a huge log file you can do bugger all with.

then, when they see it happening ask them for the time, date, and number dialed, and check to see what is being presented off the switch.

the thing i tell customers is the IPO like most hardware based switches they either work or they dont, and not often do you ever get silly issues like this that is the fault of the switch, and that some other external influence is at work!

Does anyone have an external call forward?

Take Care

I have always wished that my computer would be as easy to use as my telephone.
My wish has come true. I no longer know how to use my telephone.

good thought but not an issue for them - if someone forwarded a call it would be to their mobile etc and not to a client. It is an issue when they show their number to clients - who would only be called by the team in the office from the office.
I have set up a trace log and suggested we make the code to show DDI a little longer -9876- hopefully we will get it.
cheers
