I cannot find any expanded information on this feature in the knowledge base and was hoping someone here could help me.
I have an IPO 500V2 6.1(12) with 9640G phones and PRIs with DIDs.
Most of the time I want the callers DID number to show as the CLI with the option on a call by call bases to show the BTN.
Right now the Callers DID number shows when they call. I had thought / hoped that when pressing the “withhold your number” that it would not send the callers DID information and the CLEC would insert the BTN, but their DID number still shows. When I call from a phone without a DID the CLEC is sending out the BTN.
Thank you for any help on this issue!

yes we use the short code 9 to the ARS table.

This need to be on a call by call bases. I call one person I want them to see my DID, I call the next person I want them to see the BTN.

Tom, Thank you for the work around!
I was hoping to find out why the “withhold your Number” feature was not working. I have a customer who is testing every feature in the system and wants to know why each one doesn’t work like they think it should. I’ve been able to answer most of them but I can’t find any information on how to set this feature up.

From the 9640 guide:

You can select to withhold your number on external calls. Note that this option may not be supported in all situations. It may depend on the configuration of your phone system and options supported by your telephone line provider.

I've just tried it on a 9640 here and it worked as designed. It doesn't send the BTN, it witholds the number altogether, but i guess that would depend on whether your providor allows it.

fo shizzle ma nizzle.

Not to try and upstage you Tom; But I've just tried on the 9641 (shiny!) and indeed this works too.

I'd agree with the fact that this is probably down to the provider.

I never touched anything...

Thank you both! I need to test this myself next time I'm on site. Maybe my problem is trusting that customer did it right.

Sorry Tom, I misread the post, I thought he just wanted to withhold...
