There is 2 types of bri boards. The 2198 board is a two wire board that brings out the "U" interface (2 wire)using the firsr 12 pairs. This board does not have the nt1 build on it. The 556d board is a 4 wire board and has the nt1 build on the board and brings out the st interface.

Hello ,
I have wired the tn556d but all the stations are disconnected . I have checked the wires and are correctly.
I don't know why .
Can you help me please ?

Best Regards.
Eguander.

On a regular 8 pin jack you should have the jack wired using the white/blue and white/green pairs. Check that first. Also make sure you enter ths SPID numbers.

Hello ,
I can`t make that the TN556D works properly , the stations are disconnected and I don't known what to do.Any idea ?
To remember us I have installed an TN556D ( BRI EXTENSIONS ), I have wired it but doesn't work .

Than you.
Eguander.

check the polarity on your two pairs. Make sure you are getting power to the phone. Are u using 85xx Avaya phones

Anyone ever used a BRI board to provide BRI connectivity to a Cisco router - I have, but have questions. Mike Jones - you helped me do this, but I never got it working flawlessly.

On the BRI, I never could get the Cisco to pick up the second channel on the BRI - so I ended up just using 1 channel on each BRI.

Canibus,

I have had this working. I think the key is in the route pattern. Make sure the CA-TSC Request is at-setup and ITC BCIE is bothept.

Hello ,
How can I configure the second call apearance of a ISDN extension ( BRI LINE TN 556 D ) ? The stations works ok but only acepts one call.

Thank you.
Eguander .
