Imagine this:

I have a wireless router with 4 physical ports on it. I have 2 computers attached and both are set to static with DNS pointing to my ISP on both machines. 1st computer is my DC/DNS/DHCP and possibly add VPN on a server 2003. The other computer is a File/Print server/workstation. I also have a wireless laptop wanting to add it to the domain but I'm not sure if the wireless router will interupt the DHCP server. Will the laptop be able to get IPs from DHCP server through the wireless router? Or do I just need to have DHCP disabled on the wireless router so that my wireless users can join the domain and receive IPs?

Thanks in advance!

OK, first off you should change your configuration a bit.

All machines in your domain should nver have ISP DNS configured on their NICs. Only your internal DNS should list the ISP DNS as Forwarders.

Regarding your DHCP. Turn off DHCP on the wireless router. Enable DHCP on the server and configure the scope options to distribute the internal DNS server address as well as the IPs.

I hope you find this post helpful.

Regards,

Mark
