Everytime I try to login from my win 2k3 server to my wireless xp pro desktop i am able to get to the login screen of the laptop but as soon as login takes place i lose connection. it appears that as remote desktop allows only one connection for xp and that in a wired scenario the rdp runs as a service one can login to remote desktop ok. With this wireless connection it appears the wireless service can only run when the laptop is logged on locally Is this the case? if anyone knows how i can connect via remote desktop to my wireless-only laptop using remote desktop it would be appreciated.

Hello again

Finally its working and this is the answer that Intel Tech send me, hope it can help someone else:

"Thank you for contacting Intel(R) Technical Support.

Please note that this is a known limitation for our adapter when using Intel(R) PROSet, since the user that is logged in is utilizing the software, as soon as the remote user logs in the wireless connection is lost. You may attempt this procedure using Windows* XP Zero Configuration to configure the wireless connection.

Bcastner is correct. my apologies. an uninstall of service pack 2 and reinstall of service pack 2 with the creation of dns host records again has resolved the issue. thanks for the support bcastner.
