Im looking for advise with a good wireless solution for IP Office. I'd like all WIFI IP sets to have basic IPO features like abillity to answer hunt group calls, transfer, twin, retrieve voicmail. But I'd also like to be able to send text messages to groups (of these phones) or emails. Does Avaya have a Devconnect partner or anyone know of a good solution for this?

All that you want is integrated in the Avaya IPdect solution.
Wifi solutions can not do this the Avaya IPdect can do this.

Thanks. I'm not at all familar with the IPDECT. But what I've read dose not say anything about the ability to send text messages or emails between the DECT Phones.

No emails but text messages can be done with the 3725's and requires an AIWS.
emails are not possible but why do you want to send emails with a dect phone anyway?

I very much doubt they will send texts never mind emails, the screen size and very slow input using the numberpad means people soon give up even trying...they are not iPhones :)

Text can be done, i have seen it working.
But indeed it is just text and it is more used for using the OAP AIWS for receives text messages send by ESPA or something similar.

I don't mean "they" as in the handsets wont do it, I mean the people using them :)

You never know.
Perhaps it is needed :)

We have implemented this in our new solution for DECT and all kinds of alarming (in this case we use Mitel and Ascom devices) and it works very well.

If you want to know more then send me an email Andy, perhaps you could use it.

No thanks Peter, that would mean giving a star out and due to my recent holiday I have allowed you to pull out a big "star count" lead on me :)

Andy , i will send you an email.
This is something different and has nothing to do with the IPO specific.

Yes recieving a group messsage in text format is whats desired. Thanks, I'll have to read up on OAP AIWS.

Be aware that it will not be cheap at all.
Why do you need that message?
Is it a notification or send by a person? (no need for OAP in this case)

This will be sent by a person, after reading more on these phones it doesn't look like IPDECT will be an option.

It is for a health care environment with 24/7 staff. We have an IP Office 500 with all IP stations. We have been looking at a few 3rd party solutions, but I wanted to throw this out there to see if IP Office had something I wasn't aware of. We will probably use ZIPIT, It looks like we can interface with IP Office!
