Hi - laptop running XP pro. Installed Intel wireless mini PCI card and now have POST "Error 1802 - Unauthorized network card is plugged in - power off & remove the mini PCI card"

I cannot progress to desktop and have to remove the card.
How do I make the card usable, have I still to do something ? I assume that this is like installing any other plug & play device.

Help appreciated - thanks

Use a PCMCIA or cardbus wireless adapter. The laptop BIOS is not accepting the specific mini-pci adapter you are trying to install.

The laptop is 'Wireless enabled' (ie built in antenna) and can be upgraded by installing the PCI card in its slot.
Is there a BIOS tweak/refresh to support this upgrade ?
