Can anyone recommend a good wireless headset for our 3903's and 3904's?

It is worth considering Bluetooth...but as far as Plantronics goes, they have earned the right to be the biggest. They even visted our office during a problem. They went the extra mile.

Are you using the CS50 handset lifter with the 3903 and 3904s? If so, How? I tried it but the lifter would not mount well on the semi circular speaker area and would not lift the hanset because of the incorporated wall mount nib.

I would be interested in either a model that worked in conjunction with an ATA module or one that provides a hookflash operation. No luck finding either at this point.

Hey JustShady, I have an M3903 too and I'm thinking about buying the CS50 without the lifter, because there is no way I can imagine to jerry-rig it to fit over the speaker, and plus I like my M3903 very upright, so the lifter would drop the handset to the floor whenever it operates.

My plan is to plug the CS50 into the M3903 headset port. To answer calls, I see myself having to press two buttons: the HEADSET button on the M3903, and then the answer button on the CS50 headset. That would be OK with me.

I'm just not 100% sure that it will work at all... What do you think?

Are you guys physically picking up the handset in order to answer a call?

Or do you have the CS50 plugged into the headset port of the M3903, and pressing the headset button on the M3903 to answer a call?

I do not know of a Plantonics lifter that will work on the 3900 series. It works like a champ on the 2616's, but the 3904 on my desk is another story.

headsetguy is correct about using the headset jack on the phone; that is how I have used it.

The Plantronics HL1 lifter will work with the CS50 on 3900 series.

Has anyone tried this? It would seem that the lifter would need to be positioned so that it lifted more towards the lower end of the hanset using the wall mount nib as a pivoting point. Try it with your finger. It just seems that it would not be that reliable.

Of course I always offer this disclaimer, I could be wrong, I have been before.

I suggested that the phone be forwarded to his cell phone and then he could use his bluetooth ear piece. He complaned about using up his minutes. : )

Yes the lifter works fine. For Nortel M3900 phones there is a plastic extension that snaps onto the lifter. First time I saw one I thought it was packaging material and spent the next 10 minutes trying to find a workable position for the lifter. Than I had a "duh moment". With the extension the lifter works great.

We use the GN Netcom 9120 sets, and find them to be OK, but for the staff who are really mobile, instead of the executive posers, I'll give them one of these..

Cheaper, and we don't need to buy a headset lifter.

Sure, it's analogue, but most times the staff don't care as long as they can make and receive calls whilst roaming around and they've got a 3904 on their desk anyhow.

My department bought two CS50 headsets to work on a 3903 set, we removed the handset from the phone thereby eliminating the need for the extra expense of the handset lifter. With this arrangment all we do when a call comes in is hit button on the phone and speak, when the call is completed just hit the Goodbye button.
