Hi All

Please how do I go about troubleshooting my WINs function apasrt from the nbtstat.

We seem to be having a problem with one of our WINS Server but i would like to know of a troubleshooting set just like the nslookup for DNS. How do I know whcih one of my WINS is misbehaving. How can I test for WINS

Thanks

You could use a packet sniffer to watch traffic, but than can be a little overwhelming on a large network. Most sniffers, though, will let you filter the results to better manage the info you're seeing. Otherwise, you could disable wins servers one at a time to see which one clears up your problem.

WINSCL utility. Also just use GUI or MMC and query for specific records of interest.
