WINS error message

We just added another server onto our network to replace our our ancient pdc. Everything went smooothly in promoting the new sever to pdc. I am now getting event log errors in that An attempt to connect to the remote WINS server with address 10.10.1.1 returned with an error. Check to see that the remote WINS server is running and available, and that WINS is running on that server.
The old pdc has been off the network for about two weeks.
My primary Wins server is 10.10.1.6
Seconday Wins is 10.10.1.8

Sounds like the machine in question is still trying to register to the IP address of the old WINS server.
