Here is the situation:

PC: Windows XP Pro SP2 NTFS
Laptop: Windows XP Home SP1 Fat32
Wireless Router connected to a cable modem for a broadband internet connection.
Router --> PC = UTP cable
Router --> Laptop = wireless (PC card bus)
Laptop is working perfect, but something very strange happening with the pc:
programs are running but the icons are not appearing in the system tray (not hiding). Any explanations and/or a solution?

gpalmer711 thanks a lot.

Yes it helped, actually I don’t know if it is the tool itself or disabling the uPNP services in the router which the tool has referred to do, but the problem is solved now.

Thanks once more
