windowsupdate web site - not working?

I have been trying to connect to the windowsupdate website. It comes up (after a very long wait) and says "Windows Update is looking for available updates... 0% complete" for long enought that i finally close ie

xp pro sp1 p4 2.4ghz 256mb
IE 6.0.2800.1106.xpsp2.030422-1633

Connecting to the internet through a proxy server running on a WinNT 4.0 system with Ositis' Winproxy software.

I used to be able to get it to work by typing in:

This gave me a message that there were non-secure items on the page, clicking yes allowed the site to work. But now I am getting nothing.

The second Tuesday of every month is the date on which any new Security hotfixes are announced. Yesterday was a comparatively large announcement, and XP users can expect between 3 and 6 Hotfix packages from Windows Update.

Yes, it is busy right now.
