One of my friends uses winxp pro, when he boots the option window comes up asking if you want to login to winxp or do setup it only last for few second how can he make winxp selection permanent instead of choosing all the time.

Sounds like he has had a problem with Setup and that has left an entry in the Boot.ini which will have to be removed.

Remove the line that is pointing to Setup.
