hey,
i am having trouble with windows xp starting my secondary slave device. BIOS recognizes the drive (its a Sony CRX225E 52X CD-RW) just fine, but when windows starts, the drive is not present in "my computer". However, it does show up in the device manager, with a yellow exclamation point by it. under the properties of the device it reads, "This device cannot start. (Code 10)". i tried uninstalling the drive and then reinstalling it like windows suggested, but that didn't work. does anyone know what could be wrong and how i can fix it? any help is greatly appreciated.
here's the specs on my system:
AMD Athlon 1800+(1.53 GHz)
Soyo Dragon KT400 (Black Edition) Motherboard
Western Digital 60 GB HD
10X DVD
Sony CRX225E CD-RW
512 MB DDRRAM (333)
ATI RADEON 9200
The hard drive is set on primary master, the dvd on secondary master, and the cd-rw
on secondary slave. BIOS recognizes all devices fine.
