Hello,

i have a problem with recover-jobs for my Windows XP SP2 Clients.
I can't start the recover-job from my Legato-Backup Server (W2k03), recovering is only possible from thge client himself.

is there a patch or a known solution?

What you describe looks a bit weird. However, it might be related to the fact that you have to reconfigure your firewall. Look at this URL:

Thanks for the answer. But the problem is a other problem.
Example:
Restore Client A (Windows XP) from Client A --> OK
Restore Clients A from Client B (also Windows XP --> OK
Restore Client A from Backup Server(Windows 2003)--> failed

Hmm, what now ?

Well, first of all, the firewall is a general issue. As the client has to rely on it, you should take care about it in general.

Actually, your problem descriptions are contradictionary:
- first you mention that you can't start a recover job from the backup server
- now you talk that you can not recover the files from the server client to client A
Which problem do you actually have?

The second problem looks like you forgot to extend the "Remote Access" rights in the backup server's client resource. However, as you can recover from client B to client A, it looks like you know how to do it as you also need them in this case.

As the general mechanism seems to work i expect NW to report more information. Do you get this at all?
