Every time I start this computer I get the following window.
"Window Registryu Recovery:
One of the files containing the system's Registry data had to be recovered by use of a log or alternate copy. The recovery was successful"

Does anyone know why the computer is doing this and how it can be fixed?
Thank you
john

Bad drive comes to mind. corrupt Hive file is the issue and the only way to fix this issue is to reinstall windows fresh on the harddrive. I recommend a new harddrive because you may get this issue again if you use the same harddrive

you first need to back everything up
wipe the drive with a zero fill type software (note: if you get errors at this stage your drive is toast and you need to replace it)
Powermax is good for this. you need to do the full zero.
load windows on drive
restore backup

with a corrupt Hive file there is no way you can just get away with doing a repair reinstall over the existing OS. it just won't fix the problem

you will get more and more problems. The computer may act like it is running OK at first but you will start getting weird errors

Not what I was hoping for, but thanks.
