Windows XP Pro - LPT1 Garbage on Boot up

Running Windows XP Pro on PC with a dot matrix printer on parallel port. Upon bootup getting garbage on printer. Set LPT1 port to EPP, standard port in BIOS. Still getting garbage. Windows 2000 works fine.

Have you went to the printer manufacturers' website and look for an XP driver?

[tt]try setting the port mode to SPP instead of EPP. the old dot matrix printers dont require the use of an enhanced port anyway. try to get the updated drivers from the manufacturer[/tt]
