Hello

Im running Windows XP Home with all 3 service packs,
2.5ghz quad core CPU
2g RAM

My problem is the "drop" function of drag and drop has stopped working, meaning i can drag things fine, i see the half transparent folder I'm dragging, but when I release the mouse nothing.

no apparent cause for this that i can discern

I've tried everything at thread779-723934 and every other link i found with google including a bunch of registry fixes

any help is greatly appreciated

are you able to right-click drag, then select copy/move from the menu that pops up?

I like work. It fascinates me. I can sit and look at it for hours...

Try a different Mouse, if no luck, look at this SP3 Registry Fix.

Drag and Drop stoped working after SP3 install.

Thanks so much, your fix worked linney

and thanks for your reply FatSlug

for anyone else who comes across this post, the fix was:

navigate to :

Code:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\Zones\4

in your registry

and either create or change the value 180D to 0
