I recently installed photoshop elements 2 on my computer. I am running Windows XP pro. When I attempted to send a fax today, photshop was the default fax viewer. I want windows fax viewer as the default viewer but I have been unsuccessful in finding how to do this.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Are there any preferences or properties you can select in Photoshop to make it not the default fax viewer?

Is there a fax file you can right-click on and select "Open With" then "Choose Program" and reset the association to XP's Picture and Fax Viewer?

I vote with linney, that the root issue is PhotoShop asserting a file assocation for FAX files: tif, tiff or other file association; uncheck under PhotoShop, Options, to disassociate PS for those files.

You can force the association of .tif and .tiff files back to their defaults:

Thanks loads bcastner. The xp tiff fix program did the trick. I could not find any way in the photoshop elements 2 program to change the association files.
Thanks again. YKYS. (you know your stuff)
Thanks for your willingness to help. And thanks to all the others for their willingness to help ass well. Y'all are great.

linney,
Thanks for the suggestions. I could not find any properties in PS elements 2 to make these changes. I am not that familiar yet with the program as I just installed it. I appreciate you taking the time to respond to my question.

Thanks again.

linney,

I want to appologize for not clicking a star for you at the time the you answered the thread. It was an oversight on my part. The info you gave me along with the site to visit was eduacational. I learned something from your input and that alone is worth more than the star. Forgive the oversight I certainly did not mean to slight you.

Gratefully,
