I know this is not specific to Access but can anyone answer this? I am trying to build a setup file and I need to know the path for the programs directory.

Ok easy one for Windows XP users.

In Windows 95 & 98 the programs folder is at:
c:\windows\start menu\programs

In Windows 2000 the programs folder is at:
c:\Documents and settings\all users\start menu\programs

In Windows XP can some one tell me where the programs folder is? is it the same as 2000??

Thanks

I'm running XP, and Start Menu is in "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs", which would make it consistent with Win2K.

There's also a "C:\Documents and Settings\{User}\Start Menu\Programs" folder for each {user} set up on the computer, as well as a "C:\Documents and Settings\Default User\Start Menu\Programs" folder.

Hope this helps,
Cheers,
Steve

Thanks Steve, I thought they would keep it the same, but you never know what Microsoft are like just when you think they keep some consistency they surprise you.

Thanks again
