I have set up two servers which are an exact copy of each other using heartbeat and drbd.

Yesterday the main server crashed due to hardware failure and the fallback server has taken over.

The problem i am having is with the Windows XP machines only. Windows 98 clients work fine.

Windows XP machines that were logged on during the crash can still logon but users cannot save to the server. XP machines that weren't logged on cannot logon at all. The only solution seems to be to take the computer out of the domain and then re-join it. But i don't really want to do this with 100+ machines and then redo it again when i have fixed the main server.

I have a feeling it is to do with the domain SID not being recognised by XP.

Thanks

Mark

i seemed to have solved the problem by issuing smbpasswd -S command!

Nice catch! I guess the second server didn't have the same config. Can you give yourself a star?
