Hi,
I'm having some strange problem...
The computers are running Windows 2K/XP. They have many DNS servers configured.
For example : COMPUTER1 has 192.168.0.2 as primary DNS and 192.168.0.3 as secondary DNS.
192.168.0.2 contains some DNS address, say
I can get the information from the DNS server using nslookup without any error. However, when I try to ping it can't find the IP address of the server. Now, if I run a sniffer, I see that it's ONLY doing name resolution using the WINS servers, and so WINS servers can't find any answer to the request of the client.
Now, if hardcode only the 192.168.0.2 DNS in COMPUTER1, I can get the name resolution to work correctly.
Anyone has some idea of what I'm doing wrong??
