I am having a problem trying to run Windows updates on a machine running WinXP.

Everytime I try to run the update, a dialog warning box pops up with "Your current security settings prohibit running ActiveX controls on this page. As a result, the page may not display correctly" I have checked all of the activex security settings, and set them all to enable. I set the security to low and still receive the same message. I have also tried downloading several patches and have upgraded by laptop through the Toshiba site. Still, I am not able to run Windows Updates anymore.

Any suggestions?

Check the time and date of the computer you are trying to run Windows Update from.

I had that problem and it took me a while to figure out the time and date were incorrect.
