All of my servers and workstation are now getting the following error message when trying to use Windows Update: 0x8024E001

I have searched the web but can't find much about this error message

It started within the last day or so from what I can tell from my logs - is anyone else seeing anything similar?

Have any changes been made to your environment at all, more likely things like AD or Group Policy. That could explain it being all machines.

Nope - no other changes....the Microsoft security updates are the only changes...

Yes.....but only for my workstations - I update my servers manually....

My workstations seem to be updating via WSUS okay - although I dont think there have been any updates in the last couple of days for them....

If I go to the Windows update site with my workstations (Ive only tried a handful) and try to update manually, I get the error message....and all my servers are getting the error message...

I tried updating with my PCs at home and they worked fine...so I definately think it is something in my environment here - Im just baffled as to what could have changed...there isnt anything in my event logs, not much on the internet about the error message I get either....

Pick one station that is giving the error and try Dial-a-fix it's solved no end of windows update problems for me.

Run it and check the Fix Windows Installer and Fix WUAU boxes, if one of these sorts the problem then we know where to start looking.
If it turns out to be Windows Installer then running the msiexec /regserver command in a .bat file might sort the other stations.

NOTE: Remember to test this before running it on loads of boxes.

I just tested a couple of my servers and workstations and they are now working fine!! There had to be something on Microsoft's end that was different or changed cuz I didnt change anything overnight !!!

Thanks for your suggestions !!
