windows update error 0x800A138F

I'm receiving an error mesaage when I try to scan my pc for updates via the windows update website.It returns the following message:
windows update error 0x800A138F
Any ideas what it is,I also had a messages from before while installing software.Something about virtual device drivers in win win32 being invalid.Had this message before and it was to do with installing software that wasnt win32 compatible.
