Hi all,

Cant quite figure how this happened, but its not causing any adverse effects so usually I wouldnt worry.. HOWEVER, the customer I am doing this for will be very jumpy that it does something 'it never used to' (sure you've all been there)

All its doing is giving an option to boot into Windows XP pro, or Windows XP home edition on boot-up (you know which one i mean, the dos prompt one)
Its odd because I formated the hard drive before installing XP pro (in fact repartitioned also ) and he only has one drive, so why it would ask is beyond me..

But how do I get rid of it, or make the timer only 1 second or so? I know there is a way, but can't recall it at the moment...

To get rid of that, right click on "My Computer"->"Properties"->"Advanced Tab"->"Settings under Startup and Recovery" and uncheck time to display list of OS's.

That should do it.

Remove any line pointing to the non existent operating system.

It might be an idea to run the Bootcfg command from Recovery Console to make sure you haven't got part of XP Home installed somehow.

The bootcfg /scan command scans the hard disks of the computer for Windows NT, Windows 2000 or Windows XP installations, and then displays the results.
