Here is my situation - because of some new regulations, I have to upgrade 600 PCs on a segment of my network to XP SP2 from Windows XP Pro SP1. These machines are on a different subnet, and not part of a domain. These machines are also behind a firewall and do not have internet access. I will be sending the Windows XP SP2 file to them, and running it from a script.
The problem I am having is - I need the Windows Secuity Center / Firewall to be disabled when the machine reboots - if it isn't I have a stranded PC that is 4.5 hours away and I cannot VNC to it.
I have it set so that SP2 installs, reboots, and upon startup a script runs that disables the wscsvc (Windows Security Center) service, and also disables the SharedAccess service (ICS). This works fine, the problem I am having is - the windows security center window still comes up after reboot - I need to get around this....
Any suggestions?
Thanks
