Windows Reboots While Installing Software...

hello, i am running windows 2000 professional and whenever i try to install a program the program will install to about 98% and then windows will shutdown to a scrambled screen and i have to reboot. Heeeeeeeeelp!

What type off apps are you trying to install ? The best thing to do is try to re-create the problem on another pc. thats how i troubleshoot most of the problems i encounter.

Sounds like either system memory or video memory is kaput! Because you stated "scrambled screen" I would suggest swapping VGA cards.

i am trying to install mainly video editing software. it wasn't ever a problem before. recreating the problem on another pc is impossible at this time. i do not have another at this time but it is definately in the plans. any other suggestions?
