Windows NT workstation Install 2

Hi
I need to set up a Windows NT Workstation, for a CCmail Web server. I have a workstation with a 40GB HD, When I try to install NT on it, but not allowing me to use the whole 40GB, I know NT have a limit, but I don’t know how big of a hard drive NT can take. Is it possible that I can use the whole 40GB to install Nt. if so how do I do that? I really appreciate some help on this issue, please.

Are you using NTFS or FAT? I think FAT will limit you to 4GB while NTFS won't.

NT with SP6 (or at least SP4) is ok with 40GB drive. But NT install pre SP4 will only allow max 4GB partition (NTFS or FAT) - it creates a fat partition and converts it if you choose ntfs - and the 4GB is special dispensation (normal max for fat is 2GB).

But if you create partition/format it elsewhere, and use

http://www.htl-steyr.ac.at/~morg/drivers/NT_Atapi/

you can install NT to a 40GB aprtition (or if you're lucky enouh to have a SP4 install CD).
