I have a Windows NT workstation v4.0 that boots fine until it reaches the windows nt splash screen, and then it hangs there and the login box never displays. I have already tried last know good configuration, and vga mode as well as run chkdsk. Has anyone ever seen this before, if so is there any way to resolve it other than re-installing.

Thanks!

I was having this problem with a TYAN Trinity mother board. I finally got past the frozen screen by changing the socket my NIC was in. -- Forced it to use a different IRQ.

Rick,
have you tried renaming & restoring msgina.dll in \winnt\system32? assuming you can boot in dos.
