I was wondering if anyone knows what ports that a WinNT DNS server uses besides 53. I know with Win2K you need all ports GT 1023 open for it to work right. But NT I am not sure if thats what I need to do. I just just need to know what ports to have open on my Firewall.

Thanks

Usually the port 1023 (1026??) and above are dynamic. A request goes out (EG port 80 from your browser or port 53 for DNS) and the returning packets comes back on the dynamic ports (the next availiable dynamic port) using the SYN and ACK packets to arrange this. So you can't dictate what the return port is going to be (as far as I know, I may be wrong).
New Zealand, a great place to visit.
