Windows New Update Software Won't Install

I purchase dell computers. Lately when configuring a new computer the update won't install the most current version which means you cannot update windows. Just wondering if any one else has had this problem. I tried using the free update support. They gave me a long list of stuff to do and when I was finished my DSL access was slower than dial up and I still couldn't update.

Are you using auto-update? I have experience quite a number of times that the auto-update doesn't function as designed! I would suggest you download the updates manually and install one by one. You could go to this site to download the required patches:
