Hi,

We are currently in a changeprocess. We are developing offline and online programs. For that reason we are start to work with .NET .

After studying the .NET world I don't see much differences between VFP and Windows .NET forms. And if I see some differences then it are things .NET do not have and VFP does have.

So I'm a bit confused. Microsoft pushes .NET so much
Who has an other view on this subject.

I want to be sure to choose the right tool.

Thx

Microsoft is all about marketing. They are pushing .NET so much because that's what they think will make them the most money. By convincing developers and software buyers it's easier, faster, bigger, better,... they sell more of their product.
.NET can integrate with VFP or vice-versa, but a lot depends on what you or your companies needs are, as well as how much experience you or other programmers have with VFP vs other languages, platforms, databases and so on, as well as your online/offline data needs.
Do some searching around this forum and you will find all sorts of pros and cons for VFP, VB, SQL, Oracle, what have you. Ultimately, you will have to be the one that decides what's best for you.
Dave S.
