I have bought an MP3 player that has voice recording. Unfortunately I selected the option to record in ASF instead of WAV format by mistake, so although I can hear the recording from the MP3 Player, when I copy the file through the USB connector to my Win XP PC, I get the following error message with click options:
"An audio codec is needed to play this file. To determine if this codec is available to download from the Web, click Web Help."
When I click on Web Help, I get the following:
"Windows Media Player Error Message Help
You've encountered error message C00D10D1 while using Windows Media Player. The following information might help you troubleshoot the issue.
Codec is missing
Windows Media Player cannot play the file (or cannot play either the audio or video portion of the file) because a required codec is not installed on your computer.
The missing codec might be available to download from the Internet. To search for the codec, go to the WMPlugins.com Web site."
When I click on the link for WMPlugins.com I get the following:
The codec you are missing is not available for download from this site. You might be able to find it on another site by searching the Web for "42" (this is the WaveFormat or FourCC identifier of the codec).
Since then I have tried downloading several ASF converters and suchlike, but none of them seem to work.![[mad] [mad] [mad]](/data/assets/smilies/mad.gif)
Please help!
